Motorola's Android Lineup Ready To Combat iPhone 5

Motorola is gathering its smartphone army to launch a killer attack against Apple's iPhone 5. The company has already lined up five enhanced smartphones which will blow customers away thanks to their impressive specs, TimesWireService (opens in new tab) reports.

Motorola Atrix 4G offers a 4-inch 960x540 pixel resolution display, is powered by a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and runs Google Android 2.2. The smartphone can be connected to Motorola's 11.6-inch laptop via a laptop dock, which is something Apple's iPhone doesn't offer.

Motorola's Photon is also compatible with the company's laptop dock, is powered by the same Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and offers the same display resolution. The smartphone runs Android 2.3 and incorporates an 8MP main camera and a VGA secondary camera. The 8MP iPhone camera is at present just a rumour, while Photon's camera offering is already a reality.

Motorola Bionic has not yet been released but it should land on Verizon's 4G LTE network this summer. The huge 4.5-inch display will definitely hypnotize customers, while the dual-camera system (8MP and VGA) will make the smartphone even more appealing.

Droid X2 and Droid 2 Global are also strong competitors for Apple's iPhone thanks to their improved specs. All in all, Motorola's offerings are the "real-deal", while the iPhone 5's specs are simply speculation.
