Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE, has announced that its San Francisco Smartphone sold over 2 million units worldwide hence making it one of the best selling Smartphone available in the market today.
The “San Francisco”, which was added by the UK telecom giant Orange into its portfolio as a low budget Android device in September, last year, has come a long way ever since.
"ZTE has now sold more than two million ZTE Blade handsets, making it one of the best-selling Smartphones in the world," the company bragged, The Inquirer reports.
The Smartphone, which is available throughout 30 different countries in the world including UK, comes at a surprisingly low price of £79.
"The ZTE Blade's popularity actually exceeded that of the iPhone 4 in the UK at one stage in early 2011 according to online purchase tracking company Hotukdeals." ZTE added.
While, reaching the 2 million milestone might be a remarkable achievement for the Chinese Smartphone maker, but considering how Apple sold over 18.65 million units of the iPhone in the second quarter of the running year itself, ZTE obviously has a long way to go to be featured in the same league as the market leaders Google and Apple.
