T-Mobile UK Launches Unlimited Mobile Internet Plans

Mobile phone operator T-Mobile UK has joined 3 UK and Talkmobile in launching a "truly unlimited" mobile data contract from today.

The package is available both for existing customers and for new ones who sign up for contracts costing £25.54 or more per month.

T-Mobile says that customers may check whether they are already eligible or they can purchase it as an additional bundle for £5.10 per month, the same cost as T-Mobile's existing boosters.

The deal - which is available through T-Mobile only it seems - will only be available from 1st of July until the 30th of September, presumably to allow T-Mobile to check whether it can cope with the surge in data and whether consumers will embrace it.

The press release mentions downloads, music and video streaming but leaves out both tethering and voice over IP, two essential components of any "true unlimited" internet package.

As it stands only 3 UK, with its "The One Plan" package offers such a deal; it comes with 2000 minutes, 5000 texts, 5000 3-to-3 minutes and unlimited data including VoIP and tethering, all for £25. There's also a cheaper PAYG unlimited data plan that explicitly excludes tethering, which is available for £15 per month.

Talkmobile's unlimited data deal only covers data that is used by the handset and excludes both tethering and VoIP services.
