Massively popular Luxembourg City based VoIP provider Skype has unveiled a brand new version of the Skype for Mac software.
The new version, dubbed Skype for Mac v5.2, brings along with it several updates over the previous version, the company bragged. Some of the exiting new and updated features include the likes of support for group video calls, sharing of screens during video calls and many more.
However, to take advantage of these sophisticated and high-end features, users need to sign up for a premium subscription for an amount ranging from $4.49 and $8.99 per month.
The company also announced that the refreshed product allows users to manage calls and conversations in a better and more efficient way. It features a new call control bar that enables users to see what’s going on with the video window, while still toggling amongst other applications. A small window pops up over other applications, thus alerting the user.
In addition to these features, there’s also this 3-finger-swiping-over-the-magic-trackpad feature that allows users to swap between calls quite at ease. While the most active conversations are kept at the “Recents” section within a sidebar, other less active conversations can be extracted out of “History”.
