Redmond, Washington based software behemoth Microsoft is going to unveil its Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 on the coming July 26, according to new reports.
Microsoft brags that the new offering will provide developers with a truly reliable and efficient platform whereupon they will be able to create high-end business applications aimed at the cloud, and desktop users.
With this, LightSwitch will go on becoming the newest member in the Visual Studio family.
“Microsoft Visual Studio LightSwitch gives you a simpler and faster way to create high-quality business applications for the desktop and the cloud. LightSwitch is a new addition to the Visual Studio family,” the company announced on the official LightSwitch website.
However, the company also made it clear that LightSwitch will only be available for the MSDN subscriber on the given date, i.e. July 26. The general availability will follow up soon from July 28 onwards.
But Microsoft representatives were refraining from disclosing anything more about the launch location, or whether or not it will be Webcast.
In simple words, LightSwitch is a tool that depends upon pre-configured templates in order to make it easier for non-professional programmers to build applications.
