Internet radio company Pandora has announced that it now has more than 100 million registered users and more than 36 million monthly active users.
The company said in a blog post that by the end of 2010, its personalised radio service had a 2.3 percent market share of the US radio market. Six months into 2011, the company has increased its market share to 3.6 percent and continues to take huge strides.
Pandora users listen to radio online by creating personalised radio stations or pre-programmed stations. One of the driving factors for the company’s rising market share is accessibility.
Users can access Pandora from a wide range of devices including Smartphones, computers, tablet devices, car dashboards, TVs and set-top boxes.
The company also dished out a revamped version of Pandora.com, which, according to Pandora, has been designed ‘from the ground up to be fast, easy, beautiful and modern’.
Apart from bringing an entirely new design to the table, the revamped Pandora also comes with better search functionality, improved control buttons and enhanced music and artist discovery features. The website also comes with a profile feature that will allow users to communicate with friends with similar taste in music.
