UK retailer GAME has claimed that Modern Warfare 3 is on the path of breaking all pre-order records held by its insanely successful predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops.
The retailer told gaming blog (opens in new tab) MCV that the pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 were significantly ahead of Black Ops, which is on to way to break all pre-order records and become Activision’s best selling game.
GAME believes that Activision has another best selling game on its hands, which is likely to become its largest selling game when it launches on November 8.
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders are already tracking significantly ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops at the same time last year,” said GAME Group MD Tom Devine.
“We know that the Call of Duty brand and franchise has the most amazing fan-base and we’ve got some great surprises lined up for those who pre-order with us. We’re looking forward to an incredible launch on November 8th." he added.
Activision had released the trailer for Modern Warfare 3 a while back, which was taken in bad taste by some civil groups and newspapers, which claimed that some sequences in the game mimicked the tragic London Underground bombing.
