Sony Ericsson Xperia active now available

On-line mobile phone retailer Clove has opened up the pre-ordering of the recently announced waterproof Sony Ericsson Xperia active handset, with a cost attached of £240.

The Xperia active was launched in June and at the same time as the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray mobile phone, from the CommunicAsia telecoms event in Singapore.

The active is Sony Ericsson's first waterproof handset and in much the same vein as Motorola's Defy, which One Mobile Ring reviewed and tested last month.

The handset arrives with a 3-inch 320x480 TFT touch screen with the Sony Bravia engine, with 1GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot, a 5 megapixel camera that's capable of HD video recording and the phone runs from Android 'Gingerbread' 2.3 with a range of sporty apps.

The Xperia active is both waterproof and dustproof, where the screen can also be operated with a wet finger too - ideal for the outdoor sporting enthusiast.

Xperia active tips up with a range of sports gear to back up the phone, with arm and wrist straps to secure the mobile whilst being active and attachable ear hooks for the headset that prevents falling when running.

Clove's offer of the Sony Ericsson Xperia active is priced at £240, with an arrival date of September.
