Xperia ray arrives on O2

O2 has made public it is getting the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia ray mobile phone, when the handset arrives in September.

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia ray, the waterproof Xperia active and the txt phones were all launched at the same time in June, from the CommunicAsia telecoms event in Singapore.

The Xperia ray tips up with a 3.3-inch reality display and mobile BRAVIA engine, a 1Ghz processor and a 4GB microSD card, with an 8.1 megapixel camera and the Exmor R feature that allows for good image capture in low light.

SE’s latest handset will arrive running the Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 OS, with the Facebook inside Xperia for better social networking integration on the Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

O2 hasn’t announced any prices or tariff details to the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray as yet, although the network is carrying the Xperia arc for £37 a month with 600 minutes and an unlimited text message allowance – which One Mobile Ring believes will be matched by the Xperia ray.

OMR recently caught up with Sony Ericsson Xperia ray at an event in London, were we published a hands-on walkthrough in pictures here along with a hands-on video walkthrough here.
