Web-based digital file delivery firm YouSendIt is ready to launch its new cloud-based storage technology in order to compete with Dropbox.
According to technology website Venture Beat, YouSendIT that offers a convenient alternative to email files larger in size has launched its new venture, a cloud computing technology offering users a 2 GB storage space for free.
The technology is in strong competition with Dropbox, the firm which was the first one to provide cloud computing storage service to users free of cost along with great ease in sharing and saving the content.
“This makes sense as a business play because smaller tools like YouSendIt are easy to adopt. They make file-sharing easy and can remove the need to buy servers.” Brad Shimmin, an analyst at Current Analysis stated.
To compete with Dropbox Inc., YouSendIt is offering its users multi-layer plans keeping cost and storage space in mind. The company offers 2 GB storage space for free, 5 GB for $9.99 and unlimited space for $14.99. However, the plan lags behind as Dropbox offers 50 GB storage space for an amount of $9.99 and $19.99 for 100 GB storage space.
