Airbnb has announced $50K as insurance for those who suffer any attack of vandalising from their customers through Airbnb.
San Francisco, California-based Airbnb on Monday announced in an official blog post that the company has planned to offer $50,000 as the property protection guarantee against any damage caused to hosts by any of their customers.
Airbnb has also announced 24 hour customer care to support its clients and customers alike. The team is expected to be nearly double the size of Airbnb’s staff.
The announcement has come after EJ, a woman revealed in her personal blog post how she suffered trauma when her home was ransacked and property was stolen by the people she rented through Airbnb. The firm faced criticism regarding its response to the incident and nearly no security to people working closely with the website.
“We should have responded faster, communicated more sensitively and taken more decisive action to make sure she felt safe and secure. But we weren’t prepared for the crisis and we dropped the ball. Now we’re dealing with the consequences.” Brian Chesky, the chief executive of Airbnb stated.
Chesky also added that the incident has given them courage to work efficiently during crisis and that the team is working with the Police of San Francisco to solve the case as one suspect has already been arrested.
