The RIM Blackberry Bold 9900 will be available from Three Mobile, the smallest of the independent mobile phone operators, from August 18th and will be sold on pay as you go and on monthly contracts as well.
Three confirmed that the phone will be available on the "One Plan" contract for as little as £40 per month on a two year contract with 2000 minutes, 5000 texts, unlimited mobile data, Skype, unlimited tethering and 2000 3-to-3 minutes as well.
Those looking to get the phone on PAYG will have to fork out £449 to get the Bold 9900. The phone is essentially an upgrade of the current Bold; it comes with a 1.2GHz SoC, a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655, 8GB onboard memory (expandable to 40GB via microSD), 768MB RAM plus a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen with an ultra high 287ppi pixel density.
As expected, the smartphone, which is now Blackberry's flagship handset, features a five-megapixel camera with HD video recording as well as a full size Blackberry keyboard, GPS, Blackberry maps and an optical trackpad.
The Bold 9900 is also the first Blackberry smartphone to come with Near Field Communication capabilities built in, plus the new Blackberry OS 7.0. It does also offer Wi-Fi plus excellent battery life thanks to a 1230mAh battery.
