After tasting massive box-office success, Stallone starrer Rambo movie franchise will soon arrive on consoles as video games.
Game publisher Reef Entertainment has managed to bag the exclusive rights from movie production house StudioCanal, to turn the block-buster movie series into a game, which will be dished out for PC, Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
According to MCV UK, the game publisher will be partnering with distributor Creative Distribution to release the games next year.
The Rambo movie series, which includes First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III have raked in more than $600 million worldwide at the box office.
UK based Reef Entertainment had to compete with other big publishers before it managed to secure the rights for making the Rambo games.
“I am a big fan of Sylvester Stallone movies, and when we had the opportunity to secure the video game rights from StudioCanal for the Rambo franchise, we had to grab it with both hands,” said Reef Entertainment CEO Peter Rezon.
“With the success of the most recent Rambo film, and an international appetite for action movies with Expendables 2 scheduled for release next summer, we felt now was a good time to do something special with this licence,” he said.
