A Great iPad 2 Alternative? Dell Cuts Price Of Inspiron Duo Hybrid Tablet To £349

Dell has slashed the price of its Inspiron Duo hybrid tablet device - for the next 60 hours only -as part of its Swarmlive crowdsourcing buying service.

The price of the product decreasing from £499 to only £349, a 30 per cent discount that brings its price well below that of the 16GB Apple iPad 2; the deal can be seen here and at the time of writing, there are 50 units left.

This convertible tablet comes with the new Intel Atom N570 dual core processor clocked at 1.66GHz with 1MB L2 cache, 2GB DDR3 memory, a 250GB SATA hard disk drive, a 10.1-inch Widescreen HD WLED 1366x768 pixel capacitive touch display and Windows 7 Home Premium.

At 1.54Kg, the laptop is more than twice the weight of the iPad but comes with a proper keyboard and that innovative swivel frame that allows the Inspiron Duo laptop to transform into a tablet in seconds (and vice versa).

The deal also includes the Inspiron duo Audio Station featuring JBL speakers which transform the tablet into a digital picture frame, an (expensive) alarm clock or a multimedia player.

As expected, it comes with a raft of other features not available on the iPad 2 like USB, HDMI and Ethernet ports, a card reader as well as of course being Flash-capable.
