Markus “Notch” Persson, the creator of Minecraft, has proudly announced that Minecraft has already sold three million copies - indeed quite an achievement for a game that is yet to be officially launched.
Apparently, the whole Minecraft team is currently putting a lot of efforts in order to get the work done with the massively anticipated 1.8 “Adventure” update of the game. The 1.8 update reportedly features a quite terrifying new monster along with an entirely new combat system.
The game is also likely to feature harsher punishments for death, as well as an experience system.
According to Notch, the company is also planning to launch a special edition of MimecraftCon in this coming November as a celebration of the launch of the final version of the game. The convention is going to kick start in Las Vegas and is reportedly all set to “make the team at Mojang a loss,” reveals PC World.
Notch has revealed that his owes the success of Minecraft to the fans. He said, "I feel like I owe it to the players. They’re playing my game."
Giving a hint towards the importance of the forthcoming conference for the company, Notch stated, "MinecraftCon will be our biggest and only promotion".
