Orange has made public their own branded low-cost Orange Monte Carlo phone has arrived and for under £150, which is the rebranded ZTE Skate large touch screen flagship smartphone.
Orange announced three new own-name mobile phones in July this year, the Orange Barcelona, Stockholm and the ZTE manufactured Monte Carlo; the last mobile to arrive.
The Orange Monte Carlo ships with a 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen, with an 800MHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera and a 2GB microSD card, whilst running from Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3.
This handset features the signal boost UMA technology that uses WIFI to enhance home reception, and is also accompanied by HD voice that reduces background noise whilst on calls.
The mobile phone is a rebranded Skate handset from ZTE, who are well known for making mobile phones for companies such as Vodafone and Orange – but are soon to retail this very device, under their own name.
Orange is carrying the Monte Carlo on pay as you go deals with a cost of £149.99, on various prepay deals.
One Mobile Ring caught up with ZTE and Brightpoint recently, where we exclusively published a hands-on walkthrough set of pictures of the Skate here. Orange has published a video too of the Monte Carlo, seen below.
