Apple Injunction Blocks Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Europe

Apple Inc. has managed to bring a halt to the sale and marketing of Samsung’s leading tablet computer, Galaxy Tab 10.1 following a ruling in the German court.

According to British daily newspaper, The Telegraph, Cupertino, California-based Apple Inc. has won the patent infringement case against rival consumer electronics manufacturer Samsung Corporation as the Regional Court of Dusseldorf, Germany has banned sale of the tablet device in all countries in the European Union except the Netherlands.

Apple sued South Korea-based Samsung for allegedly infringing upon its patent technologies widely used in iPhones and iPads to develop its latest flagship tablet, Galaxy 10.1. The company has been sued by Apple Inc. in countries including the United States, Australia and the EU.

Samsung can appeal against the ruling within four weeks meanwhile the temporary block on the sale of the tablet will continue.

"The request for an injunction was filed with no notice to Samsung, and the order was issued without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung. We will take all necessary measures to ensure Samsung's innovative mobile communications devices are available to customers in Europe and around the world." the company said in a statement.
