Signal boosting software arrives on mobile phones

Innovator and supplier of smart WIFI solutions Kineto Wireless has announced its Smart Wi-Fi Application is being pre-loaded on 15 new Orange Android handsets, during the second half of this year.

Orange has expanded its UMA signal boosting service that uses WIFI to enhance a mobile phone’s signal in environments such as the home, where phone reception can be rocky at the best of times.

The Kineto smart WIFI app will be preinstalled on the Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Ace; the LG Optimus Me; HTC Wildfire S, Cha Cha and Desire S; along with the Orange-branded Barcelona, Monte Carlo and Stockholm.

ZTE will also pre-load Kineto's smart WIFI app onto new Android-based mobile phones, such as the Skate that is due to arrive later on this year under the company’s own brand – instead of under the Orange’s rebranded Monte Carlo name.

Whilst in America T-Mobile has introduced six new WIFI calling-enabled smartphones, that providing customers with enhanced network coverage and the ability to experience high-quality voice and data on their home WIFI networks.

These include the Samsung Dart, Samsung Gravity SMART, Samsung Exhibit 4G; HTC Sensation 4G, T-Mobile G2x with Google and the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G.
