Citrix Systems on Wednesday announced acquisition of personalised software for virtual desktops manufacturer, RingCube.
According to a press release, Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based leading server, desktop virtualisation and networking technique developer Citrix Systems has closed an acquisition deal with RingCube yesterday. The terms and conditions of the deal have not been disclosed by either side.
RingCube specialises in making personalised software for the users of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
"The acquisition of RingCube underscores our chief goal of enabling users to access their desktops and applications on any device, and making virtual desktops simple and affordable for
IT," vice president and general manager for Citrix Group, Bob Schultz said while announcing the acquisition.
According to Schultz, RingCube’s product vDesk is one of the main reasons for acquisition as it is a specialised workspace virtualisation technology that helps in fast and easy deployment of VDI across a company.
The innovative technology allows employees with official access to get through their VDI even through a mobile device. vDesk technology also plays an important role in maintaining and controlling access to the files on VDI along with their security.
