Mobile phone network Vodafone has now listed its own branded Facebook ‘555’ mobile phone, with a cost attached of just £62.50.
Vodafone’s 555 mobile was unveiled last month, designed specifically to deliver an affordable integrated mobile Facebook experience to the network’s own pay as you go customers.
The 555 is a rebranded Alcatel One-Touch phone and has a dedicated Facebook button, in the same way as HTC’s ChaCha and Salsa devices only with a much lower price tag.
Vodafone’s 555 ships with a 2.4-inch screen, with a 2 megapixel camera, a full Qwerty BlackBerry-esque keyboard and optical touch-pad whilst powered by a 200MHz processor, running from a proprietary operating system.
One press of the handset’s dedicated Facebook hotkey offers instant access to the social networks’ functions direct from the homescreen, delivering access to friends’ news when out and about amongst other FB features.
The Vodafone 555 can be purchased for just £62.50, or for £70. The latter of which includes a £15 Freedom Freebee that gives customers 200 minutes, 600 texts and 100MB web access in addition to their regular £15 top-up credit.
