Apple Gains Despite Dwindling PC Sales in Europe Says Gartner

At a crucial time when almost all the leading vendors in the PC market are going through a steady decline in their sales-record in the Western European region, the iPhone maker Apple is doing wonders with its Mac PCs sales steadily soaring, a new report revealed.

According to a latest PC shipment data for the region of Western Europe, Apple is the lone company amongst the top 5 vendors to have registered a growth in the second quarter of the running fiscal.

This achievement by the company indeed deserves a bit of applause as it continues to sail steadly in the market even at a time when the overall shipments of Desktop PCs have undergone a sharp 19 percent decline.

The report was published by the leading research firm Gartner Inc., and it excluded the sales figure of tablet devices.

“Because of the drop in shipments from competing PC vendors, Apple's market share in the area climbed from 5.6 percent to 7.0 percent with 879,000 Macs shipped during the quarter,” reports Apple Insider (opens in new tab).

Amongst the top 5 vendors, Acer was the company to have registered the most frustrating results with almost 44.6 percent decline compared to its position in the market just a year ago.
