Sony Ericsson mini pro hits Vodafone

Vodafone has announced it is now carrying the small Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro with a slide-out keyboard, on contracts starting from £20.50 a month.

The mobile phone network has now joined popular high-street retailer Carphone Warehouse, who listed the Xperia pro last week on tariffs as low as £20 a month.

Sony Ericsson's Xperia mini pro is an update to the 2010 X10 mini pro, which in itself was a cut down version of the large 4-inch screen flagship X10 handset from 2009. The Xperia mini pro has almost the same look, shape and dimensions to the X10 version – with some slight upgrades to the original device.

This new mini pro arrives with a 3-inch 320x480 capacitive touch screen, where the older model shipped with a smaller 2.55-inch 240x320 touch display. The X10 mini pro also arrived with a 600MHz processor and Android 'Donut'1.6 that was upgradable to 'Éclair' v2.1 – its replacement contains a 1GHz CPU and Android 'Gingerbread' 2.3.

There is also the new Type & Send function that handles all of the messages, straight from the home screen and with the Facebook inside Xperia software, for better and more thorough social networking integration.

Vodafone is now selling the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro for that low cost, which includes 100 minutes, a 250 text message bundle, 500 MB data allowance and 1GB of BT Openzone WIFI access.
