A new report has shed light into the fact that Avaya, the telecom giant from New Jersey has topped the PBX market for the third consecutive quarter in the last one year. Also, according to the same report, one quarter of its overall worldwide revenue came during the second quarter of the running year itself.
The report was published by the research outfit Infonetics Research, and it claimed that the global PBX revenue in the Q2 of the current fiscal underwent a steady rise - by almost 3.9 percent. The report also cited that Avaya’s growth, indeed, played a major role in this rather impressive performance by the PBX industry.
“The top enterprise telephony vendors remain in a tight battle to gain new customers and hold onto existing ones as enterprises migrate to IP and unified communications solutions," Diane Myers, directing analyst for VoIP and IMS at Infonetics said, Channel Web, UK reports.
"For the third quarter in a row, Avaya came out on top in the overall PBX market," she added.
Avaya’s retaining the top-spot for the third straight quarter came hard on the other major player in the market, Cisco Systems as the world’s one of the largest hardware networking manufacturer had to be content with the second position only.
