Mobile network carrier Vodafone has added Sony Erricson’s soon to be released Xperia Ray mobile phone to its ‘coming soon’ web page.
From the looks of it, Vodafone may start selling Sony Erricsson’s Xperia Ray, the latest smartphone powered by Google’s Android Operating System in the United Kingdom.
Although details about the release date, cost price and subscription packages have not been provided by Vodafone, but its listing on the ‘coming soon’ page along with that of Carphone Warehouse, suggests that release date could be as soon as in August or early September. Vodafone is expected to stock up on the phone is both Black and Gold colour.
Xperia Ray is said to be a slimmer version of its predecessor Xperia Arc with thickness just just 9.4mm and display screen size of 3.3”. The smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and runs on 1GHz processor. The phone boasts of 8.1 mega pixel camera and has Exmor R CMOS, the sensor technology similar to Xperia Arc.
Although price has not been revealed by the company yet, experts and smartphone enthusiasts are expecting it to be a little less than Arc due to its smaller size. The subscription package could be made available in the UK for as minimum as £25.
