Sony Ericsson Xperia ray hits Vodafone

Mobile phone network Vodafone has made public that it will be carrying the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray phone, when the device arrives in the next few months.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia ray was launched back in June this year, along with the Qwerty keyboard based Xperia txt and the tough Xperia active handset.

Sony Ericsson's Xperia ray will ship with a 3.3-inch reality capacitive touch screen, backed by the Sony Bravia engine, with a 1GHz processor, an 8.1 megapixel camera with the Exmore R feature for capturing images in low light, whilst running from Android 'Gingerbread' 2.3.

News of the Xperia ray arriving on Vodafone was announced from their 'Coming Soon' page on the mobile phone network's own website, where no prices or tariff details have been unveiled as yet.

Vodafone is currently selling the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc flagship handset for £36 a month, with 900 minutes, and unlimited text and 750MB data allowance – which One Mobile Ring believes could be matched with the Xperia ray.

OMR recently caught up with the Xperia ray at an event in London, where we published a hands-on walkthrough in pictures here and video here.
