UK based budget hotel chain Travelodge has decided to offer access to free Wi-Fi to its customers.
In a first-of-its-kind offering from a budget hotel, travellers wishing to access the web when they are away from home will be able to do so without having to deal with a spike in the budget.
The company is planning to bring free Wi-Fi to 140 Travelodge Bar Cafés hotels starting September 12. Travelodge believes that that it will be able to deal with the rising consumer demand for web browsing.
Travelodge said that Spectrum Interactive will be providing the Wi-Fi at the budget hotels. It believes that free Wi-Fi will be able to entice people into renting rooms at its lodges.
"We are always looking at ways to help our customers get even more value for their money whilst staying in one our Travelodge hotels," said Travelodge Chief Executive Guy Parsons.
"Our customer research has highlighted that in today's modern world travellers want internet connectivity whilst on the move, so that they can work and cyber-socialise around the clock, and with the popularity of smartphones reaching an all time high, mobile internet access is becoming more of a necessity in everyday life,” he continued.
