US wireless carrier AT&T has confirmed that it will be launching the LG Thrill 4G device in early September of this year.
The company said in a post on Twitter that the glass-free 3D smartphone, which will support AT&T’s 4G network, will be available on September 4.
AT&T promises that the device will make our world ‘come alive.' System capabilities of the new device are listed on the company's product page. However, the company has yet to divulge the pricing details, but it is rumored to be available for around $99 on contract.
According to the AT&T product page, the LG Thrill 4G will be powered by 1 Ghz dual-core, dual-channel processors. The device also features two 5 MP cameras that allow users to capture images and videos in 3D, a huge 4.3 inch screen for glass-free 3D, and access to 3D games and movies. Apart from that, the device also comes with 512 MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
The LG Thrill 4G, known as the LG Optimus 3G in Europe, is not the first 3D smartphone to be launched in the US. Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has already launched the Evo 3D in the United States. Competition for these new types of smartphones should be intense as popularity for the devices grow.
