Supermarket giant Tesco has signed an IT management deal with CA Technologies for £27 million.
Under the deal, CA will provide the retailer with IT management software such as Service Operations Insight, SysView Performance Management and Process Automation, to help manage networks, suppliers, mainframe, and credit card transactions at Tesco. This software should help the chain manage day-to-day activities more efficiently.
"We have been a strategic IT partner to Tesco for the past 20 years and are delighted to further develop our relationship with this new investment,” said Colin Bannister, CTO and vice president of Technical Sales for UK and Ireland, CA Technologies.
“The longevity of this partnership demonstrates that our solutions have a proven track record of successfully solving Tesco's IT infrastructure problems, helping the brand to do more with less, become more agile, enhance customer satisfaction and ultimately create a more profitable business," he added.
Tesco is one of the largest supermarket chains the world, with more than 5,000 stores across 14 countries. The company employs 472,000 people worldwide.
