Key Alcatel phone available on O2

Former British Telecom mobile phone network O2 is now solely carrying the flagship Alcatel OT-990 handset for £99.99, on pay as you go plans.

Alcatel's One Touch 990 was launched at Mobile World Congress in February this year, as their main phone at the event where O2 has only listed the device as 'Coming Soon' – until now.

Alcatel is well known in the low-end mobile phone arena, after making handsets for leading carriers around today along with devices featuring in places such as Argos too.

The OT-990 arrives with a large 3.5-inch capacitive display, running Android 'Froyo' 2.2 with more than 20 pre-embedded applications, 3G+ HSDPA capabilities and a 5 megapixel camera with flash & auto focus, plus support for microSD 32GB cards.

The mobile phone will compete with other budget devices such as the Vodafone Smart and Orange Monte Carlo, from the likes of ZTE and Huawei who are now both producing their flagship devices under their own name.

Only O2 is selling the Alcatel OT-990, on tariffs such as their Text and WebUp, Favourite Place, Your Country, O2 Unlimited and Simplicity prepay deals for £99.99 with two free backs.
