Sony confirms their Honeycomb tablets arrival dates

Tokyo based consumer electronics giant Sony has announced the arrival dates of their dual-display Sony tablet P and large screen S tablet, as November this year.

Sony’s two new tablets were launched back in April, under the names of S1 and S1 where only one of them has retained the same letter with the numbers dropped and the dual screen version gained a 'P' moniker.

The Sony tablet S will ship with a large 9.4-inch 1280x800 touch screen display, whilst powered by a 1GHz Nvida Tegra 2 processor, weighing in at 598grams for the 16GB and 32GB WIFI version – where a 16GB 3G variant will arrive soon afterwards.

Sony’s tablet P has a dual 5.5-inch 1024x480 touch screen foldable-display, which when opened up can achieve the screen dimensions of 79x180x26mm and features the same CPU as the ‘S’ tablet, with a weight of just 372grams.

These two devices will be accompanied by a front 0.3 megapixel and 5MP rear facing cameras, a USB 2.0 port and a SD card slot too.

The initial models will tip up with Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.1, but will be upgradeable at a later date to 3.2 – the same OS that will be a part of the WIFI+3G models.
