Apple’s new CEO and the successor of the legendary Steve jobs, Tim Cook has come up with his first big move by promoting former vice president Eddy Cue to the role of Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services.
Cue’s new role in the company will include the responsibilities of overseeing the iTunes Store, App Store, iCloud and iAds. It is worth noting here that Cue has been associated with the iTunes Store, as well as the App Store right since their very beginning. iTunes and App Store are both all set to become a $4 Billion app economy and all thanks goes to Eddy Cue.
With this move, Cue has now become a part of the 10 person executive management team and he will be directly reporting to Mr. Cook. Apple has already made changes to its organisation chart with Mr. Cue in it.
"Please join me in congratulating Eddy on this significant and well-deserved promotion," Cook wrote while congratulating Cue, Reuters (opens in new tab) reports. "I have worked with Eddy for many years and look forward to working with him even closer in the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, Cook is yet to announce the new Chief Operating Officer of the company - the same post which he was holding before being promoted by Mr. Jobs and Apple’s board to the position of CEO.
