UK wireless carrier Three has dished out a new MiFi hub which is capable of offering faster speeds when in areas that support HSPA+.
The Huawei E586 MiFi, which is around 40 percent faster than previous MiFi offerings released by the Chinese telecom equipment maker, is capable of speeds of up to 21.1 Mbps.
According to Three, the fast speeds, even in areas than don’t support HSPA+, were possible due to a new chip added to the wireless device.
The device is available for a one-time payment of £49.99 and £7.87 per month for contract based Three customers while pay-as-you go customers can purchase it for £84.99.
"A natural evolution from the previous model, the E586 MiFi provides fast, secure Wi-Fi for tablets, laptops and handheld games consoles at the touch of a button," Three said in a statement.
"Customers will experience significant speed improvements compared to the existing award-winning MiFi." the company added.
The device comes with a small OLED display which is capable of displaying key information like how much data has been used, the current speed of the connection and time for which a current connection has been active. Three also said that the device will come with a stylish charging port, which is perfect for home use.
