Android Ice Cream Sandwich Debuts in October or November

Good news for Android enthusiasts all around the world- the next major Android update is going to hit the market sometimes during the months of October or November.

The announcement was made by the acting executive chairman Eric Schmidt himself, so it’s pretty much confirmed that it will be hardly a month or two more till the “Ice Cream Sandwich” finally arrives.

The Android Ice Cream Sandwich will feature in it the flavours of both the current Gingerbread Smartphone OS platform as well as that of the Honeycomb tablet OS software. The primary reason behind the company combining elements from both the software is to come up with a united operating system for the entire Android platform.

Words were already on the streets that the new Android would hit the market towards the end of the year.

"We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone's really excited about," Salesforce CEO Mike Benioff, expressed his mind on the development, TechRadar reports.

Meanwhile, rumours are that the Samsung Nexus Prime is going to be the first ever phone to be running on the Ice Cream Sandwich.
