Owners of handsets made by Samsung and Apple are more content than their counterparts with handsets made by other manufacturers, a new study claims.
The study, carried out by J. D. Power, was based upon customer satisfaction amongst smartphone and feature phone owners in terms of device size, battery life, screen quality, processing speeds and touch screen capabilities. These features were considered the most important amongst consumers.
While Apple secured the top spot amongst smartphone manufacturers, Samsung surpassed all its competitors when it came to customer satisfaction amongst feature phone owners.
The J. D. Power study also claimed that satisfaction was usually higher amongst those who were in possession of a 4G capable handset.
"Faster processing speeds, higher computer chip bit rates, and the most advanced display screens (such as Super AMOLED vs. older LCD-based screens) all add significantly to user satisfaction," J.D. Power said, according to a CNet report.
Satisfaction ratings of smartphones weighing less that 5 ounces were found to be amongst the best, the report claimed.
