Sony Ericsson Debuts the Xperia Ray Handset for the Android Platform

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, powered by the Android platform, is now available for purchase.

The device was first introduces some back in June along with other Android-based handsets.

The Xperia Ray has been made available via a variety of platforms including the online retail giant The Clove. The Clove is offering the device for £299. Other online retailers such as Play, are also offering the handset, but at a higher price £312.

The new handset is also available on contract from O2, with a monthly scheme of £18.50.

Sony Ericsson pulled out all the stops when it came to making the product. However, it's not just the look that could make one fall for the Xperia Ray; the specs are pretty awesome too.

The product is only 9.4 mm thick and features a 3.3 inch touch screen with Mobile Bravia technology, a 1 GHz processor and an 8 megapixel camera. It is powered by the Android 2.3 OS platform and features an 8 GB microSD card.

It will be available in a wide variety of colors including white, pink, black and gold.
