Virgin Media gets a sub £10 Alcatel phone

Entertainment giant Virgin Media has now taken stock of their own branded VM560 mobile, which is an Alcatel branded One Touch handset and for just £9.99 on pay as you go tariffs.

The VM560 mobile phone is an enhanced version of the Alcatel OT-506 that was unveiled at this year’s Mobile World Congress event, in Barcelona. The handset falls into the ‘Simply You’ range by Alcatel, as a set of devices that are just simply to be used for making and receiving calls with not a great deal of extra features.

Virgin Media’s VM560 arrives with a 1.77-inch screen, with memory expandable to 8GB from a microSD card, a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio and also WIFI.

The device has a range of social networking features, with one touch access to photo sharing on Twitter and Facebook whilst enabling users to update their status and stay connected.

Virgin Media prepay customers can purchase the handset from September 19th for £9.99 in black and pink chrome, when purchased with £10 airtime – with free landline call to VM customers.
