Hyperoptic, a new UK-based Internet service provider, is the first company to offer a broadband connection of speeds up to 1 Gbps in the county.
Formed by the founders of Be Broadband, the company launched a new 1 Gbps connection to certain areas in London.
The company has yet to see a city wide roll out, with the 1 Gbps connection only available for community residential complexes. The 1 Gbps connection will will be available for £50 per month.
Hyperoptic is also offering a 20 Mbps connection for £12.50 per month and a 100 Mbps connection for £25 per month.
“There is a preconception that fibreoptic is expensive and therefore, can not be made available to consumers,” said Managing Director of Hyperoptic, Dana Tobak.
“At the same time, the UK is effectively lagging in our rate of fibre broadband adoption, holding us back in so many ways – from an economic and social perspective. Our pricing shows that the power of tomorrow can be delivered at a competitive and affordable rate. This really is the driving force behind Hyperoptic and we're thrilled to be the first to bringing this exciting proposition to market,” the executive added.
