Amidst all the bitter legal conflicts against Apple in multiple regions around the world, Samsung has managed to get the Galaxy Tab 8.9 in the pre-order section of the online shopping portal BestBuy’s US wing.
The release date of the device has yet to be confirmed by the site, meaning all those who were eagerly waiting to get their hands on the device must wait at least a few days more.
Device specs are not much different from those of other Galaxy products, apart from the screen size. As the name suggests, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has an impressive 8.9 inch touch screen display.
The device is powered by the Android 3.1 operating system and features a decent 1 GHz dual core processor, accompanied by a 1 GB RAM. The internal storage capacity stands at 16 GB (or 32 GB). There are two cameras - one 2 megapixel on the front for video calling, and one 3 megapixel on the rear. The battery life is pretty decent with a 600 mAH battery.
The 16 GB variant has been offered by BestBuy at a price of $469.99, whereas the 32 GB variant is available for $569.99.
