Samsung has hired a former Sprint Nextel executive to assist its US wing in launching new phones and introducing more efficient mobile plans, the company announced.
Samsung disclosed on Monday that Kevin Packingham is joining the company as its new senior vice president for product innovation.
Before joining the Galaxy maker, Packingham most recently served Amerilink Telecom as its chief executive officer. According to the company, Packingham will report directly to the president of Samsung’s mobile division, Dale Sohn.
"Samsung has enjoyed a strong relationship with Kevin for many years as a trusted colleague within the telecom industry and we're excited to add Kevin's experience and knowledge to our senior leadership team," Sohn said, according to this CNet report.
"Kevin's extensive background in bringing innovative and game-changing products and services to the U.S. market will be a major factor in the future success of Samsung Mobile," he added
Packingham will no doubt use his skills to create innovative new products and services for Samsung. As with many other companies, Samsung wants to continue to bring new products to its customers.
