Good news for all Windows 8 enthusiasts with a spare $3500 in their pockets - the only tablet device in existence, powered by the Windows 8 platform has been reportedly surfaced in the online shopping portal eBay (opens in new tab) - the price tag attached to the device being no more than $3500 for the Buy it Now option.
The device, made by the Korean electronics giant Samsung Co. was unveiled at the recently held Microsoft Build conference in San Francisco.
Apparently, the company gave away 5000 of the device to the developers attending the event with the view of facilitating them with a solid platform whereupon they can come up with new apps for Windows 8 run devices.
Seems like at least a section of the developers who were awarded with the device, either decided to abstain from a Samsung tablet for reasons unknown to us, or they were in serious need for some cash - many of these developers have put the tablet up for sale on eBay.
But, “For all of Microsoft’s promises to bring Windows 8 to devices based on ARM chips, the Samsung tablet runs on an x86 processor, the Intel Core i5,” PC Mag (opens in new tab) reports.
