Tech website MacPost has obtained some photos purportedly showing what is thought to be a partially assembled iPhone 5 or maybe the iPhone 4S.
Even though everybody has been expecting the iPhone 5, recent reports and even leaked photos have convinced some commentators that this autumn could very well only see the launch of an improved iPhone 4, known as the iPhone 4S or possibly iPhone 4GS (where the "S" could stand for speed, or the 4G may indicate its potential 4G connectivity).
The leaked photos show a logic board with A5 chipset, with a similar front panel to the one that's in the iPhone 4. Apple could launch an improved iPhone 4 and focus on its performance, making it much faster than the iPhone 4, but would it be enough to stand against the tough competition that seems to be arriving with every passing month?
There are also other theories with some market analysts suggesting that Apple could even release two iPhone models - the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S. We also know that Apple has been more active in the Chinese market, which could be the perfect target for this dual release, allowing the company to offer a more affordable handset alongside the flagship smartphone.
One thing is sure - the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S will be much sought after and it should be available on more carriers than the previous phone.
