Al Gore, the former US Vice President and, in case you didn't know, also a member of Apple's board, confirmed that Apple will indeed launch the iPhone 5 next month.
At the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit, Gore said that "the new iPhones" (plural) would be "out next month". Was he referring to more than one type, i.e. an iPhone 4S model alongside the iPhone 5, or was he simply talking about the mass production?
Toby Shapshak, editor of South African Stuff Magazine, also present at the conference, quoted Gore who said "Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug."
If we take a look at the past, we can't find an Apple official revealing such precious information prior to a launch, albeit Al Gore is "only" a board member.
The most recent report on the iPhone 5's launch date came from All Things Digital who indicated October 4th as the moment when Apple will hold a big media event. Will it be for the revolutionary iPhone 5 or for its less upgraded "brother", or both?
And even if Apple does release only the iPhone 5, it seems that Gore's affirmation secures even more October as the launch month for the fifth-version of world's most acclaimed smartphone.
