Hacker collective Anonymous has declared that it plans to avenge the execution of Troy Davis with a cyber attack on noon, September 24th.
According to a tweet by Anonymous' affiliate People's Liberation Front 2012, the group is going to target the Atlanta Police Department in the cyber attack.
“For the death of Troy Davis TARGET: GA State Parole Board www.pap.state.ga.us DOWN. Expect us Georgia,” the group tweeted.
Anonymous declared a ‘Day of Vengeance’ on the Wall Street, banks and the NYPD for arresting people during a peaceful outdoor protest. The group claims that excessive force was used against the protesters by the NYPD.
“Anonymous and the other cyber liberation groups around the world together with all the freedom loving people in the USA will NOT stand for this. We will peacefully yet forcefully resist the abuses of the NYC Police Department,” the group said in a statement.
“In coordination with these protests across the USA on September 24th, Anonymous and other cyber liberation groups will launch a series of cyber attacks against various targets including Wall Street, Corrupt Banking Institutions - and the NYC Police Department,” it added.
