AMD announced on Thursday that the chief of its product business is parting ways with the company.
Rick Bergman, the head of product management is leaving the company “to pursue an opportunity at another company." This change occurred just a month after the company appointed its new chief executive Rory Read.
The chip maker also stated that the new CEO will be taking over Bergman’s duties, meaning that he will be heading AMD’s graphics and microprocessor development teams. The company, in the meantime, will be looking for a permanent replacement.
"I want to thank Rick for his many contributions to AMD and wish him well in his future endeavors," said Read in a exclusive statement to PC Mag.
AMD also revealed that Paul Struhsaker, a former executive of Comcast, will be joining the company to head AMD’s new Commercial Business Division as its corporate vice president.
"Paul brings an extensive business management background and customer perspective on AMD's commercial business opportunities. I look forward to working with Paul to help drive the growth plans for this exciting part of our business," Read added.
