Comet Drops Price Of iPad 2 To £379

Comet has dropped the price of the Apple iPad 2 tablet from £399 to £379 thanks to the voucher code 5COMET which surprisingly is valid for all items on the site including Apple products.

Users will be able to collect the tablet from any Comet store within 30 minutes and free delivery is included in the deal. At £379 this is the cheapest iPad 2 (opens in new tab) offer currently on the market, but doesn't hide the fact that Apple's tablet is still priced well above the rest of the competition.

The iPad 2 is by far the best-selling tablet currently on the market with an estimated 20 million units expected to be sold in the last quarter of the year alone leading up to the holiday season.

Launched back in March, the tablet comes equipped with a dual core ARM-based Cortex A9 SoC, Apple's own A5, with two PowerVR GPU units, 512MB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, the same 9.7-inch 1024x768 pixel display and the same idiosyncrasies that plagued the first iPad tablet.

There is no microSD card reader, no expansivity and no USB port amongst other bugbears. Still, the iPad 2 is not only thinner than the first tablet, but also comes with two cameras and the ability to add a cover to it.
