Word on the streets is that the U.S based online retail giant Amazon is all set to unveil its forthcoming Kindle Tablet in a press conference, scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
The rumours about Amazon planning to launch the brand new tablet device started surfacing right after it started sending invites for the press conference to be held on Wednesday. The invites did not provide much detail regarding what the press conference is going to be all about.
However, according to updated reports, the company is indeed going to release the device, dubbed Amazon Kindle Fire, on the said day. It has been reported by some sections of the media that CEO Jeff Bezos will himself unveil the highly anticipated Apple iPad 2 rival.
The product is expected to be ready for shipping sometimes during the second week of November, according to unconfirmed reports.
The price of the Kindle Fire continues to be a mystery though. Initially it was speculated that the device will be priced at around $250. However, new reports are suggesting that price tag could touch the $300 mark.
