Social networking giant Facebook plans to launch its much delayed iPad app at Apple’s iPhone 5 launch event next week.
Sources have told Mashable, that the company plans to launch the Facebook for iPad app next week after months of failed negotiations between the two tech giants, notes CNN.
The rumour comes as it emerged that a former Facebook engineer Jeff Verkoeyen, who has worked on the Facebook for iPad app, partly left the company due to the fact that Facebook was not willing to release the app which got completed back in May. The disgruntled engineer jumped ship and joined Google instead.
“It is now nearly five months since the app was feature complete and I haven’t seen it released,” Mr. Verkoeyen wrote on his blog. “Needless to say this was a frustrating experience for me. The experience of working on this app was a large contribution to the reasons why I left Facebook.”
As the sources have revealed, Apple and Facebook have united against a common enemy, Google, with Facebook preparing to launch the official iPad Facebook app. Apart from the much awaited launch, Facebook also plans to dish out a new Facebook for iPhone app along with an HTML 5 version of a mobile app marketplace.
