Inspired by the recent success it enjoyed in the US, microblogging platform Twitter is looking forward to register an exponential growth after it integrates its services with the forthcoming iOS 5 platform, the company announced.
In the last nine months or so, Twitter registered more growth than it was able to in the last five years of its existence. And apparently, the company believes that the rate, at which it is strengthening its stake in the market, will accelerate even more with the introduction of the iOS 5 by Apple, which, it plans to integrate its services with.
The site is already resulting on an average of near about 4 billion SMS messages being generated every month. However, this could be just the tip of the iceberg, and many more such positive results could be next in line as the company prepares to tackle the new threat evolving from Google Plus - the new kid on the block of social networking.
According to Michael Abbott, vice president of engineering at Twitter, the integration of the microblogging platform’s services with iOS 5 devices such as iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad could eventually lead to a lot more Tweet production via mobile devices.
