Three announced this news to the media and also on their ‘Coming Soon’ page from their website, which also notes other new phones are due to arrive on their networks, such as the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Sony Ericsson arc S.
HTC’s Explorer was launched this week, as the new budget Android handset with a lower set of specifications aimed at the entry level market or for first time smartphone owners.
The mobile will tip up with a 3.2-inch capacitive touch screen, powered by a 600MHz processor, a low-end 3.2 megapixel camera and Android ‘Gingerbread 3.2.
This Explorer also has a newly developed Sense user interface, which features simplified menus for those who aren’t familiar with these handsets or their set-up.
Three hasn’t announced any pricing or tariff details for the HTC Explorer mobile phone, although the network is currently carrying the previous HTC budget mobile in the Wildfire S and on contracts starting from £20 a month.
One Mobile Ring believes the HTC Explorer could match the price plans of the HTC Wildfire S with Three, if not be undercut.
