Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Now Available From £250!

The price of Sony Ericsson's mini version of the Xperia arc, the Xperia Ray, has fallen by nearly £100 since it first went on preorder at Play for £350, which was nearly three months ago

The handset can now be purchased from Carphone Warehouse with a £10 topup for a grand total of £259.95. That price includes free delivery and the phone almost certainly comes unlocked.

Like its bigger brother, the Xperia Ray comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1GHz, 512MB RAM, a 3.3-inch WVGA capcitive touchscreen, Sony's own Bravia display technology, an 8.1-megapixel camera with flash and Exmor R technology, plus HD video recording capabilities, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

It can also be purchased from on Talkmobile for £25 per month on a one year contract (which constitutes a total cost of ownership of £300).

Whether this is a great deal or not depends on clearance sales currently going on (the Xperia Play for example costs under £200). It is likely that online retailers are nervously waiting for the launch of the iPhone 5 in order to gauge whether further cuts to existing handset deals are needed or not.
